Death Coaching
The news of somebody’s death; or learning that a person has a limited time to live is a shock. It is an area of trauma all on its own and more often than not becomes a point on a continuum of trauma, loss and bereavement.
When the moment of losing your loved one arrives, you do not want to be saddled with logistics and legalities.
Death coaching is designed to coach somebody who has received a terminal diagnosis; as well as the family involved. The objective is to provide guidance in terms of what can be expected during the progression of a terminal illness and to set up strategies in advance so that, when the moment of passing comes, the overwhelming logistics and legalities have already been addressed. The Relief in Grief Program (Below) is part of this package.
A death coach is not a death doula. If the services of a death doula are required, one can be sourced.
During our initial consultation we will assess the needs of the person and the family. We will identify objectives and together, we will design a program that best combines Hypnotherapy, Coaching and TIR to help you reach your goal or goals. Your needs will evolve and determine which “modalities” are used, or not.
Aspects covered include:
- Identifying practical strategies through the five stages of transition;
- Identifying pitfalls, obstacles and “I wish I’d known that sooner,” moments;
- Defining your obligations under the law;
- Comfort and care for the dying person;
- Comfort and care for the family;
- Spiritual guidance;
- Post-transition “Relief in Grief.”
